How To Upgrade Dodge Charger Brakes

When adding power and performance to your Dodge Charger, you can’t forget one of the most important safety features, your brake system. The factory brakes on your Charger are great for stock applications and were designed to provide you with braking capabilities that meet or exceed industry standards. However, your factory brakes will have trouble keeping up once you add more power. We have everything you need at KOW Performance to upgrade your factory Dodge Charger Brakes.

Better Brake Pads

One of the cheapest and easiest ways to upgrade your Charger’s brake system is by upgrading the brake pads. The brake pads are what clamp down on your brake rotors to slow your vehicle down. Upgraded pads will be made from a better compound, allowing you to get a better grip when compared to factory compound pads.

Drilled/Slotted Rotors

Brake rotors are usually not the first thing you think of when modding your car. However, they are very important when taking into account braking performance. Factory rotors are flat and give good stopping power for normal applications, but higher-power vehicles will need something with better performance.

Drilled and slotted rotors will have slots or holes drilled in them, even on the same rotor, to help dissipate heat and increase braking performance. The slots and holes will allow heat and braking dust to exit the rotor to help your brakes perform at their best.
